A Post For The Kiddies

Going through my blog roll I noticed one of my favorite challenge blogs is hosting a challenge especially for the kids! Oh what fun! I loooove when my girls craft with me. Even though I don't get anything done for myself, at least they feel connected with what I enjoy :)

So, First up to bat is Lia. Lia just turned 7 and is on an Earth Day binge! She talks about recycling and litter whenever she can......I only wish she though of the house that way! LOL
So in keeping the spirit of Earth Day, here is Lia's Creation.......

Next is Emma's. Emma is 2 1/2 and doesn't enjoy crafting as much as Lia does. Emma is FAR more patient than Lia but only for learning new things not for sitting down to color....too boring for her! She saw her sister making a card and wanted to make one too! Monkey see, monkey do! Needless to say, that didn't go over well (fighting over glue!)

So I waited until Emma and I were alone and kindly asked her to make me a happy person. She obliged :) I also asked her to write her name cause I want to keep this forever and ever and lo' and behold....her sweet little hands gently wrote out her name as I spelt it to her.....I love my girls :))))))

Simon Says Stamp (Anything goes-Children's Challenge) is the challenge I wish to enter these 2 Beauties in!

I hope you enjoyed stepping into the hearts of my 2 amazing girls :))
Ciao!

Birthdays And Fashion With Sir Stampalot

~~~Happy April~~~
A WHOLE lot happening this month for me. Lia's Birthday is on the 4th and party on the 9th so it's crunch time! Almost all of the decorations were done by hand so celebrations kinda started last month...LOL. The only way I can stay on top of things is to designate a day for each room in the house so Birthday/Spring clean up begins! UGH....
On the brighter side of things, It's a new month sooooo new challenge for Sir Stampalot :))
Why I am posting about them? Well.......
Back in October I had won their Autumn Breeze Challenge and they asked me to guest design this month! How happy was I? AM I??? UBER!!!!
Along with the monthly challenge which is Women And Fashion, the team and I have something special for you ;)
Sir Stampalot turns 1!!!
So now for the real fun bit.........this month the Design Team will be displaying their work on their own blogs only. And on the Sir Stampalot Blog we have a collection of pictures and pieces of artwork.............It was going to be jumbled all up, but that would be a bit too wicked, so they have been paired up.......a picture of each DT member along with a piece of their work which they have selected best depicts their style of crafting, plus a snipped from their DT piece for the month. Have you guessed what you need to do......? That's right, you have to decide which of our Design Team fits which mystery DT member. When you think you have the answers mail Brenda@ibas.co.uk with your list. There will be three small prizes for those with all or the most correct pairings that reach Brenda before 25th April. Any after that date will not be included.
So now that ya got the nitty gritty, here is my take on the Women And Fashion Challenge....
I really stepped out of my usual for this one! Such a special month so I wanted to create something with "Oomph" lol
This was soooooo much fun to make. Actually quite simple. I sat in front of the T.V fanning and folding for a couple of hours, did some inking and started to piece it all together. The dress formation I made out of paper mache. The top of her dress I simply glued directly on her body. I started with the bottom layer and worked my way up. Every second layer, I added some tulle and stringed pearls. Once I got to the top, it became a little tricky. I used all paper scraps for the entire dress so it was heavy cardstock. Bending and molding obviously wasn't going to work so with the fanning in front.....she looks like a prom girl from the late 80's! LMBO
Well, there ya go! I'm sure this won't be my last time making one of these. She will probably join the party table for Lia's Birthday. Lovely Lia is very proud of her and me :))
Here are a few challenges I'd like to enter....
Paper Crafting Journey: For the Ladies in your Life
Sassy Studio Designs: Fancy Folds
Some Odd Girl: Pleat Something
Creative Card Crew: For A Child
Have you guessed which picture/art piece belongs to me yet ? I'll give you a clue.................................................................
Missing Summer
Everything is so dark, grey and muddy here :(
Here are some pictures from my Aunt's gardens that make me happy.
You can also find them on flickr
Enjoy :)
Work In Progress
As a dabble into random crafty things, one of my clients asked me for something. She asked me to make her a book cover for her Weight Watchers Points Plus book. Was I up for the challenge? OF COURSE!!
Now that being said, I really didn't have much to go on because her book and calculator goes everywhere she goes so I took super quick measurements and went to work. This is kinda like a draft copy. She gave me some leftover fabric from her chair covers (really really good stuff) and the rest was stuff I had lying around. Long story short.....She looooves it! YEAH!
She brought it to her meeting and her instructor loved it so much she wants one too! Apparently they have a basic one that holds one book only. The fact that it holds all 3 items (2 books, 1 calculator) sold her on it :)
Oh what a happy ending to another trying-something-out-craft story :))
Here are a few pics of what it looks like so far. I still need to add a slot down the center.
Here are a few challenges I can enter.....
Stampin' Sisters In Christ: At Least 3 Buttons
One Stop Craft: Spring Flowers
Crafty Catz: Create Something For a Friend
Stamp Something: Something With Flowers
Studio 313: Use Natural Elements
For The Men In Our Lives
Happy Thursday everyone :)
So I'm tre tre tired these days :(
My little Emma who was once a fantastic sleeper is now, yup, a terrible one! She is now 2.4 years and is waking up at all hours screaming her head off! And mine too for that matter! Nightmares, conversations or just plain standing up and staring. Yes. Very spooky. Yes. Very annoying. LOL
Her sister went through the same but she had started super early so by this age she was done with it. So I'm going on my 7th year of terrible sleep :(
Being awake so often has given me the chance to dream and ponder on what's next to come though. I'm not one to make resolutions but some goals are on the mind. I spent 7 hours cleaning my craft room. An undertaking NOT for the faint-of-heart! Shredded old bills, organized paperwork yada yada yada.....
Gutted my drawers and the girls of clothes that don't fit or wear. Rearranged closets, toys, desks.....
So obviously, one of my goals (like many people) is to get organized! So far so good but all it takes is one lazy day and my mojo is out the window! Got to get it back!
Other things on my list is:
~ Create more. I get caught up with a couple of projects and forget about the basics.
~ Dance more. I LOVE dancing. So do the girls. So blast the tunes baby!
~ Stay on top of cleaning.
~ Take more photos and video.
That's about it.... I think. Well, at least for January! LOL
